He wrote the first draft of the script before Glen Morgan and James Wong came on board to work on another draft, with Wong directing.Ĭraig Perry (producer): "I first heard of it when my old partner faxed a three-page outline of the feature idea to the hotel I was staying at for the weekend in San Francisco. Working with producers Craig Perry and Warren Zide, Reddick turned the idea into a 12-page feature treatment that New Line then bought. This was then followed up with a fourth entry titled The Final Destination.Final Destination began life as a spec television script that Jeffrey Reddick wrote for an episode of The X-Files, but New Line saw the potential of its original idea as a feature film. This time around the story centred on a pile up on Route 23, which in turn resulted in further dices with Death for all the survivors.įinal Destination 3 arrived in 2006 – this time the tragic incident involved a roller coaster. No, but it didn’t matter, Final Destination was both a critical and commercial hit and regardless of who survived the events of the first movie, a sequel hit cinema screens in 2003. One by one the body count built up until only a few remained – but could they escape death forever? Those that survived soon found themselves experiencing a new brush with Death, with each survivor getting caught up in a bizarre accident.
